Our home was built in 2010 and as anyone who has a builder grade home from the 2000’s knows, boob lights are everywhere. I personally think changing light fixtures in a room are a HUGE upgrade that really transforms the space. For our bedrooms and larger rooms in general, I love a good chandelier that can really make a statement. But I noticed that we have a lot of areas in our home where I need a smaller fixtures to replace boob lights, but don’t necessarily want something that will be overpowering or ”steal the show”. Those areas are small hallways, our powder bath, our master closet, laundry room and mud room areas. I saved the best for first! This flush mount is 10” in diameter and SO gorgeous! I love the antique vibes the prismatic glass adds. It’s not a huge size but I think would be perfect for a hallway light or in a small vintage styled European bathroom (getting lots of ideas right now). 2. West Elm Sculptural Glass Ribbed Flush mount – $199

West Elm is really hitting it out of the park with their flush mount options. Even though I generally consider West Elm to be more mid-century or modern, I think the ribbed glass look can look great with a lot of styles. The white glass really gives me english cottage vibes and creates a really soft, cozy lighting feel. This fixture also comes in a dark bronze or a polished nickel if thats your thing. This fixture is 12” diameter so its definitely on the larger size of the flush mounts listed here.

3. Joss and Main Celeste Glass Semi Flush Mount – $110

A bit cheaper than the West Elm options but just as classy, Joss and Main sells this gorgeous flush mount for $110! It’s called a semi-flush mount so it hangs down from the ceiling just a bit which I think adds more character and depth, especially if you have high ceilings and need to fill that space. They also offer lots of finishes like oil rubbed bronze, brushed or polished nickel and natural brass (my favorite).

4. Schoolhouse Otis 4” – $199

Ok, I know it’s pricey but I HAD to include this gorgeousness from Schoolhouse. If you haven’t drooled over their vintage inspired quilts and minimalistic fixtures you’ll thank me later. This sconce is the perfect marriage of European cottage meets nautical simplicity with a dash of industrial era England. All that to say, it could work with a broad variety of styles and is a show stopper for sure. I mean, it’s just perfection.

5. Lamps Plus Schoolhouse Floating 7” Brass and Frosted Glass Ceiling Light – $49.99

This semi-flush mount is AMAZING value for how beautiful it looks! Lamps Plus is selling this one for under $50 and it still has every bit of the vintage/antique vibes that the others give off. The white glass will really create a warm lighting look if thats what you’re going for. Again, this is a semi-flush mount so keep in mind, it hangs 9 and 3/4 inches down from the ceiling.

6. Wayfair Willa Arlo Interiors Unique/Statement Bowl Flush Mount – $139.99

This flush mount from Willa Arlo is super unique and reminds me of something you’d see walking through a home in the early 1920’s. A little bit showy and flashy but with a warm, feminine twist. I think this would be totally dreamy in a little girls nursery!

7. Overstock Trade Winds Hammond Semi Flush Mount – $136.80

I ultimately purchased this semi-flush mount for Hattie’s nursery remodel because it had the soft, warm lighting I was going for. It also has antique vibes from the white glass/gold metal AND it’s the lowest hanging flush mount I could find. It’s sort of a cross between a flush mount and a pendant light. This is perfect for a smaller space where a chandelier would be over powering. The value is great.

8. Home Depot Monteaux Semi Flush Mount with glass shade – $69.97

This might seem repetitive of number 2 but I had to share this home depot dupe of the West Elm sculptural ribbed glass fixture above. At only $69.97 this is a total STEAL. This one is quite a bit smaller than the West Elm option (only 6” diameter) so it’d be better suited for small space lighting like hallways or bathrooms while the West Elm option could be more of a center piece.

9. Amazon Farmhouse Glass Semi Flush Mount – $79.66

WOW, I totally stumbled upon this one by accident but I’m rethinking all the spaces in my house and imagining this lighting in each one. The charm and intricate detail of this fixture makes me think it was pulled out of a turn of the century victorian farmhouse and refurbished at top dollar. But actually it’s less than $80 on amazon! I WILL be purchasing this one when I do my master closet renovation.

This one seems kind of out there compared to my other picks but bear with me! Granny chic is super popular right now and I can definitely imagine a way you could make this tiffany glass flush mount look totally breathtaking! Imagine this in a top of the stairs reading nook with gorgeous bead board on the walls, painted a soft mauve color with rows of old books lining antique wood bookcases… Can you picture it?
