The Holly House Living Room Reveal (Part 1)
This living room has been at the top of our “to do” list since we first moved in. The room was already stunning, charming, and filled with classic colonial elements. It just needed a little love. Now I’m thrilled to have the comfiest, coziest, transitional living room filled with antiques and one-of-a-kind items that feel just right. In this post, I’ll break down part 1 of the living room reveal + all the exciting plans to come.

Let’s Call this “Cozy Colonial Chic”:
My style is hard to define but having a really stunning, traditional living room that also feels incredibly cozy and serene was my top priority for this space. I love rooms that feel inviting, and comfortable and every piece I selected for this room reflects just that.
Before we take the full living room tour, let’s look back at the original living room!

This picture is from the listing of our home. I could tell immediately this room has the bones to be absolutely stunning!

I shared in THIS post all about the living room plans that we painted the living room Clary Sage upon first moving in and it felt WAY too green in this low-light space. I always felt like I was in a cave! I knew it had to change PLUS I wanted to add more texture to the walls by doing some sort of wall trim.
The Living Room Reveal:

I’m still in shock over how beautiful this space is now! It doesn’t even look like the same room.
The first and probably biggest transition was adding box trim all around this whole room! Box trim is such a classic style and meshes so well with our colonial home.

My vision was to have a stunning classic accent wall covered in vintage gold frames with unique art. I think it turned out great! Some of the art needs to be swapped out and fine-tuned but the overall look is here.

Maiden Home Dune Sofa // Floral Pillow // Striped Pillow // Gold Frames
The star of the show here is our new Maiden Sofa Dune sofa. My sister has the same sofa so I have tested it out numerous times and can speak to its amazing quality and durability. It’s a slip-cover sofa but you could never tell. Plus this performance fabric is incredibly easy to clean and keep looking fresh. I wasn’t sure if a white sofa was a smart idea with 3 kids under 6, but so far I’ve been quite impressed!
These sofas are made to order and we went with a 105″ sofa. It is SO comfy.

Sconce // Chess board // Table // Chairs (similar)
This little corner is a work in progress but for now we are calling it the “chess table” corner. The plug-in sconce cord is driving me nuts so I plan to maybe use the “magic-light trick” for this one. We purchased this small black table from Amazon and it is not exactly what I wanted. It was insanely hard to put together and doesn’t sit very level.
The art is antique and I’ve wanted to hang him forever! He fits here perfectly.

Throw // Fabienne Sofa // Primrose Mirror // Lumbar Pillow
I’ve been dreaming of the Fabienne Sofa from Lulu and Georgia for years now. We went with the smaller 71″ size in Cognac Velvet and I’m so glad! It fits this side of the living room perfectly. This sofa is super deep and incredibly comfy.
The buffet is a vintage find from Habitat for Humanity and I’ve never come close to finding anything that good ever again. For $180, this was a total steal!

Rug // Light Fixture // Curtains
This rug is from Amber Lewis’s Loloi collection. It’s the Billie in Rust/Tobacco. It’s one of only a few rugs offered in a 10 x 14 size.
One of the stand-out features of this room is the stunning bubble chandelier. It adds so much designer flare to this room plus I think its a little bit of an edgy, modern vibe in a very traditional space.
Of note, this fixture is a beast to put together! (Think, 2-3 hours of attaching glass bulbs to a metal frame…) so plan accordingly and make sure you measure your space correctly!

Candle // Match cloche // This is Home Book // Call it Home Book // Marble Dish
The coffee table is one of my proudest vintage finds from a High Point Antique Store (If you are local, check out Golden Oldies!) I felt that all the elegant fixtures in this room warranted one very eclectic, rustic piece and this fits the bill. Styled with a mix of vintage trinkets and coffee table books, it really completes the space!

We still have a few items we would love to add to this room, including a leather chair and our upcoming project to widen the French doors at the end of this room!

I hope you love this living room refresh as much as we do!
